Worcester August 6
Something I'd been planning to do for some time was a day trip to Worcester. The forecast had been for a nice day all day, although it didn't work out that way.
The park and drive was limited height, so I drove on nearer town until I found St. George's Square, which is very nice and a great place to park. We found we could get the W1 park and ride bus into town with our passes and we went to the bus station. We then walked round there, and right down the high street to the Cathedral and some way back, then off down a side street until we found the Eagle Vaults. A typical M&B glazed pub with great windows and a good cheap lunch. After, we went down the neighbouring street (Friar Street) where most of the really interesting Tudor houses were. That took us back to the cathedral. Time to have a look round there as it started to rain. Then, a bit tired by now, we went down to the river, where the kids were playing in the fountain. We sat there a bit until it started raining a bit more, and we made our way up Bridge Street and went in Debenham's just as it really started raining hard, and went for a cream tea, which was nice. When we came out the rain had almost stopped, but we were tired by then, so we went back and got the bus back to the van. A good day.
