Swanage, September
A sunny day again on Friday 11th, with a few clouds building in the afternoon. It was also cooler and still windy. We set out a bit later than on Thursday, taking it easy and first making up a picnic lunch. Then we caught a bus to the Square and in a few minutes caught the 50 to Swanage. We got just about the last two seats. It was a nice run through Westbourne, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks and over on the ferry then via some nice country and small villages to Swanage front. It was very windy there. We found the start of the Folk Festival and looked round some stalls. We had our picnic on a bench out of the worst of the wind, then looked round the rest of the stalls. We were particularly impressed by the kite and flag stall (see the video!).

We went onto the front and had a nice ice-cream, but it was still pretty cool even in a shelter, so we walked on along the front.
Further round towards the pier we were able to sit for quite a while. It was busy and good to watch the world go by.

We started up a side street and found
Earth Lights where we shared a very nice cream tea. Very New Age but nice. Then to the station and just missed a bus. I took some photos of the steam train and got on the next bus and got good seats. We enjoyed the trip back and it took us all the way to the Lansdown.
