Stratford-upon-Avon

On Thursday 9 October, we went to Stratford-upon-Avon for the day. First we made our way to Sheep Street and Wetherspoon's The Golden Bee, which is a nice old building.

After lunch, we looked at the shops and went down to the river. They've made an awful mess of the riverside, though. We crossed the canal, and the river cruise was about to sail, so we went on that. We went up the river – a lot of which I filmed, then back down to the weir and back again. A really enjoyable trip. I enjoyed it much more than I expected.

After the boat trip, we wandered back up the high street, looking at the shops and for somewhere reasonable for a coffee. We passed Shakespeare's birthplace, and swung back to the top of the town to get the 4 o'clock bus, but the bus never came, and we ended up with the 16:35.
