Par Sands

After visiting Marsh Villa gardens, we went and spent a little time on Par Sands. An interesting, rather wild area, which I rather liked for its being unspoiled.

Polruan and Fowey

On the next day, Thursday, not long after lunch, we set off and went to Polruan down 7 miles of narrow, mostly single-track, twisty lanes. When we got there, it was a pay-and-display car-park on the very top of the hill, but we had no change! We were about to go to find some, when we were given an all-day ticket! It was a long climb down to the water, but some terrific views. We passed near the garden we went in years ago, but didn't have time to go in. Got to the ferry to , and went over on the Lady Diana, £1.20 each, single. Then there was quite a walk to the centre of Fowey. Far too touristy, not sure I really like Fowey much. We had a nice ice-cream and a long sit in the central square. Then back to the ferry and the long, long climb back and tortuous drive back, but quite a reasonable day really. I like Polruan.
