Lower Quinton, September

Friday 24th September was a beautiful sunny day with very little wind. We took some of the ingredients for a picnic at set off just before 11. Stopped at Tesco's, Sheldon and picked up rolls and Danish, then off south through Stratford along the Stratford Road, then towards Broadway. We stopped in a lay-by near Long Marston airfield for lunch, which was nice, then turned off just down the road to Lower Quinton. I parked, with a little difficulty as there was a big funeral on, and we strolled round the village. I hadn't been there in decades.

Evesham Country Park

Then on to Broadway, but the parking was a little dear for the amount of time that we really wanted to spend there, so drove through and went to Evesham Country Park. We had a little look round the big shop there, admired their flowers and Halloween displays, then went and had a coffee and Danish in the van.

Alcester

We then drove back up the old Evesham road, through Norton and that way, to Alcester, where we stopped again and walked up the high street, through the gardens, stopping a bit to chat to one of the residents, then back to the bottom of the high street. It was getting a bit late by then, so off home up the Alcester Road.
