Derek's Holiday to Burnham-on-Sea 2006

In the middle of July, my mom and I had another 4-day holiday (Monday to Friday) in a nice mobile home at Burnham-on-Sea at the mouth of the River Parratt, just down the coast from Weston-Super-Mare. The weather was breezy, but that was rather welcome, as it was sunny and really hot at times.

Here are the pictures.

First a view of the lakes at the Holiday Village. This is a very nice camp, with a nature reserve, by the lake, right in the middle of it. It's a very large area, but so well landscaped and divided by trees, you don't realise it until you walk around it. It also has a splendid entrance drive, that I never got round to taking.

The entrance to the camp site is just behind us in this photo, and that's the centre of Burnham you can see in the distance.

Wells, Somerset

While at Burnham, we had an enjoyable afternoon driving up the back roads to the city of Wells.

Clevedon

On another day we went a little further up the coast to the old resort of Clevedon.

Axbridge and Lacock

On the way home from Burnham, we stopped for a moment in one of my favourite little villages, Axbridge.

Further on, we stopped for rather longer in Lacock. I think this is in Gloucestershire.
